Trojans shocked by Shoreline

The Trojans hosted Shoreline Sunday afternoon in a big conference game matchup. The Trojans have been off to a hot start going 5-1 in conference play. Shoreline came in as underdogs with a 3-3 conference record looking to end the Trojans 5 game winning streak.

The Trojans struggled in the first half going down 40-33 at the break. Tyler Walker helped keep the Trojans in the game with some huge buckets. Tyler went for 16 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Piol Makuei and Cameron Underwood both put up a solid performance each going for 12 points.

With 8 minutes left in the game, the Trojans found themselves down 59-49. After back-to-back threes by Piol Makuei and Elijah Seybold, the Trojans found themselves down four. The next play Cameron Underwood came up with a big steal and would eventually find himself open for an easy layup to bring the Trojans to within two. Seconds later Piol Makuei would tie the game with a layup of his own.

Elijah Seybold got things going and would give the Trojans a lead after he was fouled on two different occasions from the 3-point line. Shoreline would then regain the lead with 3 minutes remaining and the Trojans could not find an answer.

Shoreline was able to hold off the Trojans, win by a score of 74-70, and end the Trojans winning streak. The Trojans have a big game on the road this Wednesday against first place Skagit.
