It was sophomore night for the Trojans as they hosted Peninsula Sunday evening at Walt Price in the final regular season home game for Everett. The Trojans (10-2) went into tonight looking to maintain their first place standing in the North only one game ahead of second place Peninsula (9-3). Both teams came into tonight hot on a 5 game winning streak.
The Trojans got off to a hot start in the first 8 minutes of the game going up 25-12 over Peninsula. After a short run by Peninsula, the game was tied at 37-37 with 4 minutes left in the half. After 5 quick points by Bobby Martin, the Trojans were able to stretch their lead by 3 going into half.
Five Trojans put up double digit scoring tonight in a huge matchup to secure the North. Leading the way with a double-double, Devin Smith put up 21 points and 12 rebounds on the night. Tyler Walker scored 15 points on 7 of 9 shooting and Bobby Martin put up 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting. Piol Makuei controlled the pace of the game scoring 11 points and adding 10 assists. Elijah Seybold also finished with 11 points. Noah Phillips added 6 points on a perfect 2 for 2 from three-point range.
The Trojans as a team shot 50% from the field and 31% from three. The Trojans were able to gain momentum coming out of half where they were able to outscore Peninsula 46-33 in a blowout victory to secure the North Region Champion spot. This 88-72 victory gives the Trojan the title of North Region Champs for a third consecutive year.
