Everett, WA - The Trojans improved their win streak to five in a row on Wednesday night in front of a solid crowd at the Walt Price Center.  In the final game of the non-conference schedule, EvCC defeated Pierce College 90-80, for the 10th win of the season under first year head coach Daniel Thompson.

Despite hitting seven first half, threes and out-shooting Pierce 47% to 39% from the field, the Trojans still found themselves trailing 42-41 at the break.  Nate Harding led Everett with 11 points off the bench, hitting three, three pointers, and starting point guard Jailin Johnson had 9 points with 6 assists.

The two teams remained evenly matched through the second half and after ten minutes of action it was a two point Trojan lead at 68-66.  Neither team held more than a four point lead, and there had been three ties and seven lead changes.  With just under five minutes to play, Ethan Martin got to the rim and scored, putting the Trojans up by five.

Pierce had one last effort to climb back into the game when Donnelle Irvin hit a three with 1:37 remaining to cut into the lead 84-80, but that would be their last bucket of the game, and the Trojans won it going away.

Jailin Johnson had a monstrous game nearly getting a triple double and finishing with 24 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.  Derek Smith continued to be a scoring threat with 16 points, as did Ethan Martin with 12 points and 6 assists.  Off the bench it was solid nights from Hayden Conaxis who finished with 12 points and 4 rebounds, and Nate Harding finished with five threes and 17 points.  As a team Everett made 44% of their three point attempts and shared the ball efficiently with 25 assists.

Everett will open up north region play next Wednesday against rivals Edmonds College in the T-Trophy Series.  The Tritons are 9-5 in non conference play and have signature wins over quality opponents.
