Bellevue, WA - The Trojans pick up a big north region win on Saturday afternoon with a 78-75 road win over #8 ranked Bellevue College.  Jailin Johnson led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds while also dishing out 6 assists.

After scoring the first bucket of the game, EvCC never led for the remainder of the first half.  The Bulldogs got up by as many as ten, with two minutes to play, but a 10-2 run (6 from Jailin Johnson) to close out the half, brought the Trojans back to within two.

Out of the break, EvCC took their second lead of the game three minutes in on a Johnson lay up at the rim.  Both teams exchanged blows through the next twelve minutes with 5 ties and four lead changes.  With just over four minutes to play Daniel Headdings hit a pair of free throws to give EvCC a two point lead, 67-65.  Bellevue fought back to tie the game at 73, with 43 seconds to play, but Ethan Martin converted on a pair of free throws down the stretch, and then an and one opportunity to score the final five points of the game, securing the 78-75 win.

The Trojans shot a stellar 66% from the field in the second half, and did most of their damage inside the paint, scoring 48.  Only 10 three pointers were attempted all game for EvCC, their lowest total of the season, after having averaged over 23 attempts in the previous 15 games.

Raefe McEnroe and Ethan Martin were the other double figure scorers with 15 and 14 respectively.  Hayden Conaxis scored 8 off the bench, and Nate Harding continued his high percentage shooting from downtown, making two of two attempts.  Harding is 53% from three on the season which currently ranks 2nd in the NWAC.

Everett will play a huge road game this week against undefeated and #1 ranked Skagit Valley.  Tip Off is set for 7pm in Mount Vernon.
