The Trojans traveled to Des Moines, WA on Saturday afternoon to take on the Thunderbirds of Highline College.  Both teams were coming off of two north region opener losses and searching for  their first wins and hopefully to get back to .500.  Highline got on the board first with 3 runs in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the second.  Everett would respond in the top of the third with 2 runs of their own only to be answered by Highline with another two runs.  Trailing 4-7 heading into the 6th inning, Everett showed signs of a comeback after a Carrie Peterson walk was follwed by a Lizzy Dillard two run home run (her first of her college career) to pull the Trojans within a run.   But despite totaling more hits than Highline (10-7) and Highlines 3 errors the Trojans couldn't quite capitalize and the Thunderbirds came away with the 6-7 win.  Megan Parsley had a 4-4 game with two doubles and an RBI, while Lizzy Dillard went 2-3 out of the 8 spot in the lineup and drove in two RBI's.  Full Box  

In the 2nd game it would be the Trojans who would strike first in the top of the 1st.  Megan Parsley connected for her third double on the day, driving in two runs, followed by a Carrie Peterson single that drove in another run for a total of 3 before the end of the frame.  From there it would be all downhill as the Thunderbirds would score runs in the first 4 innings and would build an 11-3 lead heading into the 5th inning.  Trailing by 8 runs, Everett would need at least one run to keep the game going and avoid the 8 run rule.  Alyson Roberson kept the hopes alive with a lead off single, but two strikeouts and a flyout would seal Everett's fate with the 11-3 loss.  Parsley again had a solid game going 2-3 with the double and 2 RBI's, putting her at 6-7 on the day with three doubles and four RBI's.  Full Box

Everett (now 3-7 overall) finds themselves 0-4 in North Region play after two straight road series, but looks to recover with a full week off and will host their first home game of the season at Gaffney Field next Saturday against Skagit Valley College who is 2-0 in North Region play after a sweep against Pierce College.
