Freshman Kayla Tuaoa from Wailuku Hawaii did it all for a Trojans team who won the North Region for the first time since 2007. Kayla started every game at either short stop or pitcher, and consistently batted near the top of the lineup with a team leading .476 average, .538 on base percentage, and .902 slugging percentage. Kayla also led the team in RBI's, triples, doubles, hits, and runs scored. She played in all 24 games as either the starting shortstop or starting pitcher. In the field she had a .939 fielding percentage, and in the circle she recorded 7 wins, pitching 7 complete games in 60.1 innings pitched and striking out 28 batters. Kayla, like many of her teammates, is committed to returning next season to make a run at an NWAC Championship.
