Bremerton, WA - The Trojans traveled to Olympic College on Saturday with hopes to get back into the win column, after dropping two games to Edmonds earlier in the week.  The home Rangers got out in front with a pair of runs in the first game of the doubleheader but EvCC found their stroke at the plate in the middle innings scoring 9 total runs in the 3rd and 4th innings.   The Trojans then weathered a 3 run surge by Olympic in the bottom of the 5th, by shutting them out in the 6th and 7th to preserve a 9-5 win.  Taryn Takayoshi had a big 4 hit game while Alissa Hermansen supporter herself in the circle by going 3-4 at the dish and drove in 3 runs.  Avery Olson and Olivia Boures also came in clutch, each with a two run double, to drive in two runs.  Hermansen pitched all 7 innings, giving up the solo home run in the bottom of the first, but bouncing back to throw 4 shutout innings, with a total of 5 hits and struck out 2.

In game two the Trojans came out on fire with five runs in the top of the first. Emma Hansen got things going with a double to score a run, and then Hermansen followed with a grand slam (her second of the year) to put EvCC in the driver's seat. Olympic responded with a big inning of their own, that was sparked by a 3-run home run, taking a 6-5 lead after the 2nd inning. After a scoreless 3rd for both teams, Everett reclaimed the lead in the 4th with four runs.  Emma Hansen was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and then Takayoshi drove in 3 runs with a single.

One inning later the Rangers chipped away at the 9-6 lead by scoring two runs in the 5th with a 2-run single but the rally would be short lived as Olivia Boures connected on a two run home run in the top of the 7th that stole the momentum back.  Two more runs would score for Everett in the inning and it would be a five run lead heading into the bottom of the 7th.  Olympic had little fight left and went down in order, giving EvCC the 13-8 win. Everett combined for 15 total hits with multiple players getting two or more hits, led by Takayoshi who had 3 singles and also walked twice with four RBI's.  Gracie Salverda, Wmma Hansen, and Layna Cowin each recorded doubles while Hermansen and Boures had the big home runs.

Everett's next game is scheduled for Wednesday (weather pending) against Pierce College.  That will be a double header at Gaffney Field with the first pitch at 4pm.
