Everett Splits Rivalry with Edmonds, Showcases Offensive Firepower

Lynnwood, WA - The Everett Trojans dominated the first game of their doubleheader against Edmonds, cruising to a 9-1 victory behind Alissa Hermansen's stellar pitching and an explosive offensive effort. In the second game, Everett looked poised for a sweep after jumping out to a 9-0 first-inning lead, but Edmonds stormed back in a wild, high-scoring affair, ultimately winning 15-14 in extra innings on a walk-off home run. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Everett's bats were electric throughout the day, racking up 23 runs on 20 hits across both games. The Trojans showed their ability to capitalize on opportunities, drawing a total of 15 walks and delivering clutch hits in key moments. With a strong showing at the plate and solid pitching performances, Everett proved they are a force to be reckoned with moving forward.

Game 1: Everett 9, Edmonds 1

Everett controlled the opener from start to finish, holding Edmonds to just two hits while capitalizing on their own offensive chances. Hermansen was dominant in the circle, and a three-run homer from Shayne Hoekendorf sealed the win in the fifth inning.

Game 2: Edmonds 15, Everett 14 (9 Innings)

Everett's offense exploded early with a 9-run first inning, but Edmonds clawed back with a seven-run third and a game-tying rally in the seventh. Emma Hansen's home run in the seventh gave Everett a late lead, but a three-run blast from Edmonds' Olivia Collins sent the game to extras, where her walk-off homer in the ninth ended it.

Despite the split, Everett proved their offensive strength and the 3-1 start to north region play will propel them into the weekend for a home doubleheader against Highline College.  Game times against the Thunderbirds are set for 12pm and 2pm on March 29th.
