Yakima, WA - Over the course of five games at the NWAC Crossover Tournament in Yakima, the Everett Trojans softball team displayed a blend of resilience, explosive offense, and growth, bouncing back impressively after a tough opener. Their road trip began with a challenging 16-0 loss to the undefeated and number one ranked Lower Columbia squad, a game in which Everett struggled to get their bats going against a dominant performance by Ava Eib. Despite the tough outing, there were sparks of fight from players like Renee Riggins and Emma Hansen, who each tallied a hit, and the team showed grit against a powerhouse opponent.
Everett quickly shook off that loss, responding with four straight wins in commanding fashion. They blanked Umpqua 8-0 behind Alissa Hermansen's masterful three-hit shutout and double-digit strikeout performance, while the offense, powered by homers from Riggins and Hansen, came alive with 12 hits. The Trojans then dismantled Chemeketa 13-6 with a balanced attack, including multi-RBI performances from Kenidee Holden and Emmajoy Wise. Their offensive momentum peaked with an 18-6 rout of Centralia, where Emma Hansen erupted for five hits and six RBIs, and Olivia Boures went deep.
Everett's three game win streak was ended by #2 ranked Columbia Basin. The Trojans were deadlocked at 1-1 through four innings with the Hawks, but a big 5th inning for CBC propelled the squad to a 9-2 win, their 16th in a row and improves their recored to 28-2 on the season. NWAC home run leader Lauren Krick notched her 20th home run, and pitched a solid game giving up 5 hits and striking out 9 batters. Emma Hanson continued her hot weekend going 2-4 and scoring a run. Over the five games Hanson hit .550 with 11 hits, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, and 9 RBI's.
The Trojans return to North region play with a 19-8 overall record, 11-3 in north play, just behind Bellevue at 13-3.
