Forrest Grove, OR - Freshman multi athlete Justice Funston had a strong showing on Monday and Tuesday at the Pacific University Multi Events.  There, he competed against 20 athletes from a mixture of two-year colleges and four-year colleges.  In his first career decathalon, Funston scored a total of 5320 points, which placed him 14th overall for the event, but 6th among NWAC competition.  His top event was the 1500m where he ran 4:49.45 and placed 3rd overall.  He also placed 5th in the pole vault, jumping 13' 7" a new PR.  In fact Justice set new PR's in all but one of the events, the discus throw where he was 9" away from a new personal best in that event as well. 

Justice is currently 7th in the NWAC in the long jump and has an opportunity to qualify for the NWAC Championships in two other events as well.
