Rangers Defeat Trojans

Rangers Defeat Trojans

Everett, WA – Women's hoops tipped off on Wednesday night against a tough Olympic Rangers squad who boasted a 13-5 overall record coming into the contest.  8th ranked Olympic took #3 ranked Peninsula down to the wire last weekend ultimately falling 69-67.

The Trojans showed grit from tip off to final buzzer, playing with five players due to a series of nagging injuries/illness that kept five other players out of the lineup.  Olympic scored first 12 points of the game, connecting on two three's and getting six other points in transition.  Jada Andresen connected on a three, and that got some scoring going for the Trojans, but OC stayed hot and extended their lead to 16 at the quarter break.

Olympic kept it going in the second quarter, and ended the half shooting 55% from three making eight of ten.  EvCC was led in scoring by Jada Andresen's 9 points, but the Trojans trailed 56-20 at the break.

The Trojan five battled in the second half, and played a tighter contest 39-32, but ultimately fell 95-50.  Andresen led the way with 25 points, with 5 rebounds and four assists.  Freshman, Ruby Wacker had a career high 9 points and made two three pointers.

Everett will play this Saturday on the road at #3 ranked Peninsula.  Tip off is set for 2:00pm.
