The Trojans opened up North Region play after starting the season 0-3-2, but without their starting goalkeeper Emma Allison for four of those games.  In fact, EvCC has not had their entire roster available for a single match this season.  After two draws the previous weekend on a road trip to Oregon, the Trojans looked to be heading in the right direction, and just in time to face rivals to the south, Edmonds Community College.

Last season EvCC swept the Tritons in three matches, but with each new year comes new rosters, new talent, and new energy to the season.  Edmonds rattled off 4 goals in the first 18 minutes of the game before the Trojans made a change in goal, bringing in defender Kristin Abraham in the 18th minute.  Moments later Courtney Arnold would send in a free kick to the box to Jaylin Baah-Yeboah who was fouled, earning the penalty kick.  Arnold would then capitalize on the opportunity, bringing the score to 4-1.

Edmonds connected on one more goal before half bringing the score to 5-1.

In the second half, the Trojans had another change in goal bringing in another defender, this time Caitlynn Daniel.  Offensively EvCC had opportunities, but were unable to connect until a goal in the 79th minute by Emily Newt-Fears, her first goal of the season, and the first of her collegiate career.

Defensively the Trojans would improve on the game, but still allowed two goals, bringing the final score 7-2.

Everett will be back in action on Wednesday at home when the take on defending North Region Champions Peninsula College.  Kick off is set for 1:30 pm.
