First Collegiate Goals for Three Trojans in Win

First Collegiate Goals for Three Trojans in Win

The Trojan took care of business on Saturday, defeating Shoreline by a score of 6-1, and securing a much needed three points to stay within one point of the third playoff spot in the North Region.

The soggy grass field did not stop the Trojans from capitalizing early. Sophomore Mayu Nagaike, international student from Japan, dribbled past two defenders in the 5th minute and lofted a left-footed shot just over the Shoreline keepers reach, scoring her 3rd goal of the season.  Ten minutes later, leading Trojan goal scorer, Jaylin Bahh-Yeboah did it again for her 6th goal of the year with an assist from freshman Caitlynn Daniel.

The Dolphins would find a goal in the first half on one of only three shots on goal all game.  EvCC kept the pressure on, with a game total and season high 28 shots, 11 of which were on target.  Caitlynn Daniel (off of a free kick), Kristin Abraham (from 30 yds out) , and Payton Nolte (shot deflected off of a defender) all would score their first collegiate goals of their careers, and sophomore Courtney Arnold netted her 7th career goal, 3rd on the season.

The Trojans are one point behind Whatcom for third place in the north region standings, and will travel to Skagit Valley on Wednesday, a team they defeated 3-2 two weeks ago at home.
