Everett, WA - The T-Trophy rivalry kicked off on Saturday with both teams fighting to climb the north region standings and get into position to make the NWAC playoffs.  At the halfway point of region play, and only six matches left in the regular season, the rivalry match only added to the intensity.  EvCC entered the match 6 points behind Skagit Valley and looking to close the gap against an Edmonds team that has scored just 5 goals this season.  Thirteen minutes into the match, Chloe Parker fired a shot that hit the top crossbar, and the deflection was nearly put in by Alexis Bell, but the Edmonds keeper,  made a nice save.  The Trojans kept the pressure on in the first half with 8 shots, five of which were on target, but none found the back of the net.

The second half was nearly identical, again 8 shots, five forced the keeper to make saves.  The best chance in the second half came from Alexis Bell, firing off a shot that went just high.  The EvCC defense held strong, in both halves not allowing a single shot by the Tritons.  The line was held by Kahlan Buckley, Tegan Ramey, Maleah Kirk, and Maki Quiyono Wong.

The 0-0 tie is the first draw on the season for EvCC, and puts them five points behind Skagit Valley in the standings.  The Trojans will get a chance to carve into that defecit next Saturday with a home match against the Whatcom Orcas.  EvCC defeated WCC back on September 14th by a score of 2-0.  Sophomores Cassandra Sotelo and Alexis Bell were the goal scorers in that match.

Kickoff for Saturday against Whatcom is set for 12:00pm at Everett Memorial Stadium.
