Everett, WA - The Trojans scored 9 goals in a route over Whatcom CC on Saturday afternoon. It was the highest goal total since 2022 when EvCC defeated Treasure Valley 10-0. Alexis Bell, who entered the match with 3 goals on the season, nearly tripled that number by scoring five goals, three in the first half and two in the second half. Bell scored the first two goals of the match in the 10th and 12th minute, and freshman Chloe Parker scored off her left foot in the 21st minute. Two minutes later Bell got the hat trick, using her speed to beat the defense and put the game out of reach for the Orcas with 20 minutes to play in the first half. EvCC got one more goal before the whistle when Isabella Nguon scored from 20 yards out on a free kick.
Bell picked up where she left off scoring her fourth goal, five minutes into the second half. Whatcom finally got on the board with their only goal of the game, scored via a penalty kick in the 54th minute. It would be their only shot on goal in the second half, compared to Everett's seven. Alexis Bell scored her 5th goal of the game (12th career goal) in the 70th minute which currently puts her at 10th all time at EvCC in career goals scored, tied with former teammate Emily Marriott who is currently playing at the University of Saskatchewan.
The Trojans tallied two more goals before it was all said and done. Genesis Molina Escobar scored her second goal of the season, her last goal coming back on August 20th in the 1-0 win over Blue Mountain. Chloe Parker got her second goal of the game in the closing moments, again off the left foot when she corralled a free kick just outside the box, turned and launched a shot to the top of the net.
Everett picks up win number four on the season, but will have a tough task ahead, hosting the #1 ranked Peninsula Pirates at home on Wednesday. The Pirates are undefeated, and defeated the Trojans 6-0 back on September 18th in Port Angeles. Kick off is set for 7:30pm at Everett Memorial Stadium.
