Everett Community Collge hosted the 2017 North-West Regional Championship 5k meet at Willis Tucker Park in Snohomish, WA featuring two other colleges; Green River College of Auburn, WA and Olympic College of Bremerton, WA. The Trojans team, dealing with injuries was limited to just 4 participants and thus did not have the required 5 runners necessary for a team score. However, that did not stop a gutsy performance from the two top EvCC runners in Kaitlin Morgan and Jeniya Guillen who finished the race 1st and 2nd. Morgan posted a time of 21:53, 16 seconds faster then the next highest finesher, teammate Jeniya Guillen who beat out Erika Hettick of Olympic by 8 tenths of a second for 2nd place.
