Trojans Off to Solid Start

Everett CC Cross Country had their first race of the season on Saturday at the Ken Garland Classic hosted by St. Martin's University in Lacey, WA.  This served as a preview to the NWAC Championship meet that will take place on November 10th with the exact same course for both the women's 5k and the men's 8k.

The women's raced featured 104 total runners from NWAC schools as well as NCAA Division II Western Washington, Central Washington, St. Martin's, and Alaska Fairbanks.  Freshman, Danielle Bauder lead the women's team with a time of 19:17 and finishing 12th overall, and 3rd among all NWAC participants.  Her teammates all finished in the top half of the NWAC field; Ellee London (38th), Andrea Padilla (41st), Kaitlin Morgan (50th), Sandra Hart (55th),  Alison Canlas (59th), Maylynn Cendejas (63rd).

The men's race featured 133 runners, again including 8 NWAC schools and NCAA Division II's Western Washington, Saint Martins, and Alaska Fairbanks.  The top finisher for the Trojans was freshman Tim Manzyuk who finished 39th overall in team finishes.  Teammates Galmo Said, Isaiah Funston, Nathan McGinty, and Isaac O'Connell finished 40th, 46th, 54th, and 71st respectively.
