Tacoma, WA - The Trojan cross country teams participated in their second meet of the 2023 season at the Pacific Lutheran University Invite, which featured competitors from four other NWAC colleges as well as a host of four year universities.  Both the men and women ran their first 6k and 8k races respectively.

The women raced first and got a solid performance from freshman Angelina Pamatian who finished second among all NWAC competitors with a time of 26:32.7.  Lone sophomore Emma Arcea was not far behind, running her first race of the season after returning from a minor injury and posted a time of 27:30.2.  Two more freshman, Jessica Henry and Elizabeth Weatherhogge rounded out the field for EvCC finishing ahead of six more NWAC competitors.

On the men's side, it was freshman Yahir Marban who finished first for EvCC, and lone sophomore Vitalii Shvets set a new PR by one minute, 22 seconds.  The other freshman, Blake Wayman, Adrian Vigil, and Moses Martin all made good appearances in their first 8k.

The Trojans will go up against more NWAC schools in two weeks at the John Payne Invitational at Chambers Creek, which doubles as a preview to the NWAC Championship course.  Only Vitalii Shvets and Emma Arceo have experience with the course, Emma running 20:47 5k and Vitalii running a 30:47 8k.
