Salem, OR - Trojan Cross Country participated in the 49th annual Charles Bowles invitational in Salem, OR. The race has grown to feature over 200 runners in both races and over 20 teams. In by far the largest field the Trojans will see this season, EvCC competed strongly with all five women posting respectable 5k times, and all five men posting PR's in the 8k race.
The women's race was won by NCAA DI runner, Emilie Langschwager of the University of Hawaii posting a time of 17:03.5, but top Trojan runner Teagan Pentz ran a lifetime best 5k with a time of 21:12.4 and was the 13th NWAC competitor to finish. Teammate Taya Kilgore was not far behind at 21:38.0.
The men's race was won by Daniel Butler, from the College of Idaho, an NAIA powerhouse. The next two finishers were also from the College of Idaho, and unsurprisingly C of I took first out of 25 teams. Anthony Long led the Trojans with a PR time of 26:48.8. Charlie Roberts ran a very strong race setting a new personal best in the 8k by 49 seconds.
Everett's next meet will be back in Oregon on October 19th, and will feature a return to Linfield College at the George Oja Invite.
