Trojan Athletics Year in Review

The Trojans finished off a strong athletic year in 2024-2025 year with yet again recognition from the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCCA), announcing the final standings in the prestigous Daktronics and Learfield Cups.  The Trojans finished 5th of 36 schools in the NWAC Directors Cup, 19th of 145 two-year colleges in the State Association Division and 33rd of 581 two-year colleges in the National Learfield Directors Cup. Denna Gibb was also named NATYCCA's District Nine's Scholar Athlete of the year and was one of nine finalists for the national award. Denna was a participant in volleyball and track and field in 2023-2024 but spring sport athletes are eligible for the 2024-2025 award.

Cross Country

The women's team placed 7th of 14 at the NWAC Championships, led by Teagan Pentz who was 18th overall. All 5 women PR'd at championship event. The men finished 7th overall as a team, led by Anthony Long who placed 16th overall; Both the men's and women's teams finished 2nd at the NW Region Championship, Long, Pentz, and Taya Kilgore were first team all region; Rachel Cundy was NW Region women's coach of the year; 5 athletes made the academic honor roll.

Women's Soccer

5-7-2 overall record, defeated Edmonds to earn a point in the T-Trophy standings; finished 4th in the north standings; Alexis Bell & Ruby Wacker received all north region selection and were invited to play in the NWAC All Star Game; 6 team members made the academic honor roll and the team GPA 2.88.

Men's Soccer

15-4-1 overall record, most wins in program history; advanced to NWAC semifinals for the 2nd time in 3 seasons; ranked as high as #9 in the nation; Cristiano Whitaker finished with 33 career goals (2nd all time at EvCC); Noah Harrison-Russell finished with 22 career assists (most all time at EvCC); Paddy Murphy's 7.5 shutouts ties for most all time at EvCC; Kieren Raney the all time winningest coach in program history with 50 career wins; Dilon Spahia, Whitaker, and Alhagie Ceesay named 1st team all region; 19 team members made the academic honor roll with a team GPA of 3.00

Women's Volleyball

12-20 overall record finished 5th in the north standings; averaged 1.49 blocks per set which is the second most all time at EvCC and 17.35 digs per set also ranked 2nd all time at EvCC; Reece Nelson was named 2nd team all region & Taylor Holland was named 3rd team; 4th year head Coach Whitney Williams now has the most wins in program history with 62; 8 team members made the academic honor roll; Team GPA of 2.84

Women's Basketball

First year under new head coach Jay Franco, 2-26 record, 6th in north region standings. Highlight win over Shoreline; Jada Andresen finished her career as all time leader in made three pointers and named 2nd team all region; 3.10 team gpa in fall and winter and 5 team members made the academic honor roll with a team GPA of 3.19

Men's Basketball

13-15 overall record, finished 6th in the region. Thrilling full court buzzer beater at Shoreline that made news outlets. Nate Harding made 139 career threes, 7th all time at EvCC. 10 individuals appeared on the academic honor roll.

Track and Field

14 individuals qualified for the NWAC Championships; and 6 made the podium. Top EvCC finisher was Reda Long who finished 2nd in the 10,000m race and was NWAC All American. 13 individuals appeared on the academic honor roll.

Softball

Named EvCC team of the year. 38-13 overall record and won North Region Championship; Head coach Randy Smith's hit the 500 win mark & named north region coach of the year; team advanced to the NWAC Championship game; Team broke several team records including runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, stolen bases, and RBI's; 8 were named to the all region teams, A. Hermansen was north region pitcher of the year and NFCA All American, Emmajoy Wise was north region MVP and EvCC Female athlete of the year; Emma Hansen has career records in hits and triples.  10 sophomores graduated with a team GPA of 3.46, and 10 individuals made the academic honor roll.

Baseball

39-12 overall record winning the north region championship for the 7th time in the past 9 seasons; ties EvCC record for most wins in a season. The team qualified for the NWAC playoffs for the 9th straight season; 10 Trojans received all region honors; 5 gold glovers; and 3 were named All NWAC; Colin Beazizo named first Team All American, Micah Coleman and Talan Zenk were 2nd Team All American; Hessler named North Region Head Coach of the Year; Micah Coleman was the EvCC Male Athlete of the Year; Several of the sophomores are moving on to continue their playing careers including many at Division I; the team GPA is 2.96 and 28 individuals made the academic honor roll.
